Event Info
Psychologist Kris Kelvin arrives at a research station orbiting the oceanic planet Solaris. The planet’s vast, living sea is believed to be a single sentient organism — intelligent but unreadable. He finds the station crew in disarray, plagued by mysterious visitors conjured from their memories by the planet’s sentient Ocean. Soon, Kelvin too encounters the Ocean’s strange response to his presence. It sends him Rheya, the woman he once loved and lost. She is alive again, made flesh from his memories, but not quite herself.
As Kelvin struggles between reason and emotion, he realises that the Ocean does not communicate, but rather it reflects. It returns to each person their unspoken guilt and desire, dreams and nightmares. Solaris is not a story of answers. It is a story of mirrors, broken shards, fleeting reflections. Science fails. Love fails. Hope wanes as grief is returned to us, altered and unbearable.
